My name is Kris and I’m a photographer in Edmonton, Alberta. I picked up a camera in 2002 and I haven’t stopped taking pictures since. From Sports, Children, Weddings, and everything in between, I love to pick up my camera and shoot everything in sight.
This blog/site is a chance for me to showcase my work and gives me the opportunity to talk about what’s going on in my life, what’s happening around the world, and interesting things that are happening in photography.
It’s going to be very informal and a lot of fun.
Thanks for taking the time to check everything out.
Enjoy!

Our friends Dean & Chloe invited us to their son’s - Hastings - 3rd birthday party at Kinsmen Park on Saturday. If you’ve visited my site in the past you’ll recognize the whole family. Laura and I went to Dean and Chloe’s wedding in Australia, I have several pictures of Hastings in my Little Ones slideshow, and Dean was one of my groomsmen when I got married.
So I haven’t taken a lot of pictures - besides of my new son Devon - in a while so I brought out my camera and snapped a few hundred. I thought since Chloe’s family is in Australia and both her and Dean have lots of friends and family who couldn’t make it, this would be a nice way to let them see the fun Hastings had. And boy, did he have fun playing in the water, opening presents and eating cake!
So enjoy the slideshow. There are about 80 pictures, so it takes about 4 minutes to view the whole slideshow - sorry I couldn’t edit them down more- Hastings is just so darn cute.

I love shooting sports. There’s something exhilarating about trying to capture that raw emotion and those special moments or plays. So I was really excited to get the opportunity to shoot both the senior boys and girls basketball teams for M.E. LaZerte.
It also gave me a chance to try out the Canon 1D Mark III and the Canon 50mm 1.2 lens. What a sweet combination for basketball. I planted myself under the basket for the entire game and didn’t switch lenses once - and why would I? M.E. LaZerte has your typical high school gym - dark (as it relates to photography standards). But with the MK III’s great high ISO quality and the 1.2 lens, I was able to keep the shutter speed at 500 with the ISO set to 1600. I can’t stress this enough - this is a killer sports setup.
Ok, enough talk - lets get to the pictures.
Oh, one last thing. I’ll have the girls pictures up tomorrow. Enjoy.
What a perfect way to get back to posting. Laura and I shot a real fun wedding a few weeks back. Jessica and Patrik were great. They had this snazzy wedding at the Union Bank Inn here in Edmonton.
I am so excited for everyone to see these pictures. Jessica and Patrik look so amazing together. They get this twinkle in their eyes when they look at each other. It’s so easy to tell how much they love each other.
At the time of the wedding Jessica was 8 months pregnant. I’ve always heard that a lot of brides that are expecting don’t want shots where they can see that they are pregnant. Not Jessica. She was an awesome bride.
Lana Milner Weddings helped coordinate the wedding and did an amazing job. If you’re planning a wedding or know someone who needs some help, make sure to check out her website.
So without further adieu I give you Jessica and Patrik’s wedding pictures.
Enjoy.

Wait, that’s not the iPhone. Ok, I’ll get to the review in a second, but this is a picture from my iPhone. It shows just how hot it was today. Ok, so it wasn’t 43 - that’s just what it read when I started the car after it had been sitting in the sun for a few hours. It really only got to 31. Still FREAKING hot! Ok, lets get on to the iPhone review.
